ENGAGE: Faith Journey is for You…

  • if you are a rising 10th - 12th grader who feels that God may be calling you into ministry

  • if you are ready to dig deeper into what God’s call could mean for your life.

  • if you would like to learn about ministry opportunities in the United Methodist Church

  • if you would like to spend time with others who are on the same journey

  • if you want to build your leadership skills

  • if you are interested in learning how God’s call fits into the rest of your life

THe Event

Spend 5 days at Emory & Henry College with other rising 10th-12th graders who are trying to figure out where God is leading you.

You will interact with like-minded peers, college professors, Holston Conference ministers, as well as Emory & Henry's chaplain, Mary K. Briggs. You will have your own clergy mentor and sharing group.

IS THIS JUST FOR PEOPLE WANTING TO BE PASTORS?

Absolutely not! While some who attend will be planning to be pastors, others will be exploring serving in mission work, youth ministry, lay ministry, or church finances. Others will be at the beginning of their journey.

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?

Throughout the week you will participating in activities like

  • worship

  • service projects

  • a class taught by a college professor

  • exploring your faith

  • Bible study

  • prayer

  • playing spoons and Apples-to-Apples Bible edition

A 5-day Retreat
(11 AM Monday to 11 AM Friday) for High School Students

This event focuses on faith formation, fun, and figuring out where God is leading you as you make life-long friends.

Cost is $100 per person. Participation is limited to 25 persons per event.
