The Young Adult Experience engages those age 18-25 to actively consider a call to ordained ministry.

Young adults are encouraged to discern their call to ministry through

  • seeking God's presence through the means of grace as prescribed by John Wesley
  • practicing the Wesleyan spiritual disciplines of prayer, worship, Bible study, and covenant groups
  • connecting with peers to establish lasting relationships for support and accountability
  • developing relationships with mentors who will provide guidance in the discernment process
  • learning the steps of the candidacy process and choosing a seminary

The Young Adults Experience will begin with a 5-day event on campus event at Emory & Henry College. Participants will spend time remembering their spiritual journeys, hearing the call stories of ordained clergy, learning several spiritual disciplines, worshiping, and forming relationships with others who are on the same journey.
